How many courses are needed to complete the Elementary Language Proficiency requirement?
The Elementary Language Proficiency (EPSL) requirement may be met by completing only one course at the 102 or higher level (102 alone is sufficient). Students starting at the 101 level will need to complete both 101 and 102 to meet the requirement.
A course is listed as having multiple attributes, can it meet more than one requirement?
The V, W, EPSL, and GM-except as noted below, requirements may overlap with each other and with the H, SS, NS, and Q requirements. The H, SS, NS, Q and the two courses from separate divisions outside the major requirements can not overlap each other.
A chart of which CCS attributes can and cannot overlap can be found here.
Can a single course be used to complete the GM requirement?
No, students must complete both a GM1 and a GM2 course. Some courses qualify as both, but may only be used towards one of the two requirements.
